STRESS!!!

HELP!!!!  She expects me to do what? He said the due date was when? But I have soccer practice! piano practice! my friend's birthday party! I haven't been feeling great!

What do you do when life gets crazy and teacher's pile on the work? What are your strategies for coping with the stress?

  1. The first thing I do if I am coping with stress from homework is make a check list for the assignments based on what is due soonest, what will take longest, and what is hardest. After I have done that I will do one to three things per day. One,I will get my book and read for a half hour. Two,I will go outside for awhile.Three,I will pop popcorn and watch some TV.That is how I deal with stress

    1. How do reading, playing and, watching tv help?

    2. I think that is a very good strategy for coping with stress. But, I don't think eating popcorn and watching TV is homework. Also, you should check your conventions.

    3. I think that I might use one of your strategies.

    4. I think that T.V might not help me because then that would just pile up more work when I am done watching T.V

    5. I like your idea I think I should do the same.

    6. That is true. But at least it helps me with taking my mind off of the pile of homework.

    7. When I have a pile of homework, I brake it into chunks, like if I have a note catcher, I will watch an episode of tv with my dad, then I get the note catcher done, and we go to the pool. Just so I don't make myself feel like there is to much homework.

  2. When there is so much to do and it can be hard to cope with. Stress is no fun and makes you feel like pulling your hair out. To deal with this, I give myself time to rest my brain in between tasks. You can only work for so long. Eventually, your brain gets so tired that you can’t think and do your best work. This can be really frustrating. After you have a break, you feel ready to go back to work. Also, I like to do the most important work first, like something that is due the next day instead of something that is due Friday. This helps you get everything done on time. It also helps you organize what you have to do. Dealing with stress is hard, but with the right strategies, it is manageable.

    1. I like how you described stress(pulling your hair out). You have good conventions, and it is very easy to understand. Your organization strategies are good. Figuring out what is most important is a very good strategy.

    2. I agree. You should take a break in between tasks. It dies down a lot of stress.

  3. Well, for me stress is just doing something else to refocus my mindset to stop the contemplation of such thoughts. Another strategy is to just go with it see how it plays out just go with what happens. Okay this is my biggest one TRY YOUR BEST its all you can do if there is too much I'm sure you can find some way to do it or find some other way to schedule it. Also, sometimes you should just chunk it for example I had a lot of homework yesterday so I did some of it that night and the rest this morning, though if your thoughts are flowing you should just do it then. What gets rid of stress pretty fast for me is to tap your fingers the teacher may not like it but then you can just tap your legs. I hope you got a good idea out of what helps me not be so stressed.

  4. I cope my stress by getting all of the stuff I need to get done. I like to do this because it works for me and I have other stuff to do too. I don't think that it'll work for every one because that's my type of personality. I do it because I get all of my stuff done and others. I think you can use this if you have that type of personality. Stress is stress but they still is a way to get it done.

  5. Coping with stress from work is hard but manageable. These are my strategies:

    1. Take a break (and eat a cookie)! You can’t work all the time. Overworking can only cause you more stress, and if you take a break and relax (maybe with a cookie) then your stress goes away.

    2. Take it in parts. If you have a big assignment, then do the harder stuff first. That gets you time at the end to do the easy stuff quickly! Also, if you have a lot of work, then make a list with the time-consuming things at the top.

    3. CHILL! Don’t freak out and frantically scramble to get your work done. It will most likely get a two and you will have time left when you could have made it better.

Enjoy the strategies! (but don’t take the cookie part seriously.)

I have a few strategies for coping with stress and tons of homework. One strategy is to breathe! Ok, so take a deep breathe in ( take in as much oxygen as you can) Now ,hold it for four seconds. Now, push all that air out and push as long as you can(you might want to do it a few more times). Are you relaxed enough? If not, try this one. Make a plan- figure out how much time you have to study, or do homework, or whatever you have to do. You can finish the few things that are due tomorrow, and maybe work on stuff thats due on Friday. If you don’t want to work on upcoming due assignments just let it go! You have a plan, and have done all you can do for now. I suggest that you work on things that are due Mon.-Wed. on the previous Thurs.- Sun. Then, work on stuff due Thurs.- Fri. on the previous Sat-Wed. Make a plan and always think ahead!

  8. What I do when I am stressed is I try to take it into pieces. For the bouquet and memory wreath I took it in pieces and did one thing first. While I was doing something I ignore that I did not have to do anything but that. When I was done I doing that one thing I would move on to the next thing and ignore the rest. Then I would keep repeating until I finished it all. Finally, I would sit back and relax. That is how I would take on the loads of homework.

  9. Everyone has those high stressed moments. There's many different ways to deal with it, here's how I do. First, I count to ten. Counting helps you not focus on your problem and focus on something else. Second, I take a five minute break to cool down. Third, I listen to music. Those are three ways I deal with stress.

  10. When lots of stress comes to me, I just try to relax. I love school, but sometimes, teachers give me too much pressure. When I have a bunch of sports, I try my hardest to make time for it. Like, in the morning or late at night. Really, lacrosse and skiing take up a lot of time, but I make time for everything. If I were to not do it the time I was supposed to do it, (like when I tell myself to) I just do it another time. In the end, my main strategies are to relax and make time.

  11. What I do when life gets crazy is to just calm down and take things one at a time. I write things in my student planner. Then I know what all of my homework is. That helps me categorize the importance of my homework.. For example, math first, then blog, then reading. Also, I do things that are due the next day before I do things that are due next week.

  12. When my life gets crazy and I have a lot of homework, some of my strategies are toe work on it bit by bit, get help, and do all of it before a party, practice, or family time. Working on it bit by bit helps because it dies down stress. If you do all of it at the same time you get very stressed and aggravated. You get on your nerves and everyone else. I also get help. Getting help makes it a little bit easier. They don’t all of it but they help you figure it out. Doing before activities help because while you are at it you aren't stressed and thinking about your homework. These work for me and I hope they work for you.

There are different ways to handle stress, but I am telling you the ways that I handle it. One way is when I have a ton of homework, I just take my eyes off the paper or computer and just relax, because if you don’t take a break, you just get more stressed. Also have you tried stress ball? Well, I have and it kinda works but... mostly when I get stressed, I just grab something to roll my feet on or just something to help me move around and using my feet. I have figured out that I am better if I move around. That is why when I wrote this blog, I was moving. That is because it is Halloween and I am hyper even though I haven’t had any candy... YET!!!!!!!!!

  14. Think about it: Stress

Yes! It definitely does feel like you want to pull out your hair. Need help getting over stress? Follow these steps:
    1. Do something you enjoy. Usually doing something fun will make you forget about the things that are due.
    2. Get into your P.J.’s. P.J.’s are comfy and relaxing.
    3. Do the work in bed.
    4. Do the stuff that’s due the next day. This will help you be organized.
    5. Stop! If you are not focusing on the work or doing your best, TAKE A BREAK! Don’t push yourself to finish it. You can do it after dinner.

  15. When I do have stress, and not very often, I try to focus on one thing at a time. If you focus on all the thing you have to do, it becomes very stressful. I try to do the most important things first, and maybe turn down other things that aren’t as important. If I need to, I ask my parents for help. Also, going to swim practice or playing a sport helps me relax. Taking a shower also works very well for me. Finally, it is very important for me to get 10 or more hours of sleep, so getting to bed on time really helps.

  16. What I do when life gets crazy is take a deep breath and go talk to someone. I make sure that it doesn’t get to the point where I get grumpy and start locking myself into a room to get everything done. I also go talk to my teacher and tell her that I am feeling REALLY stressed. Since some of my teachers don’t know what my other teachers are giving me for work, I tend to have the higher side in homework but, if the assignment is due the next day, I do it then and there. If the assignment is due in a week, I do it a day where maybe I have less work. It is all about time management (which is pretty tricky)!

  17. Stress is hard to deal with and sometimes you can get really frustrated, but I have some strategies I use to help with my stress. First, I do a little bit of my work and then take a break. Maybe watch some TV or take a nap but things like that can really help relax me. When I do too much at the same time and I try to hurry to get it done, then sometimes I tend to stress more. Also, if I get to stressed out then sometimes it helps to talk to somebody because that can relax me and then they understand too. Another strategy I have is, I always try to stay organized with my work because then when you know where everything is, it will help a lot. I usually do my first assignment first and second assignment second etc. because that can keep me organized too. Stress is a hard feeling to work with but using strategies like these can help a lot.

  18. I think a couple of my strategies are... First, I like to get outside if I am stressed and breath in some fresh air and stand there by myself. Second, I like to get a good night sleep. Then I can go into school or wherever and be able to work calmly and fast and do a good job on whatever I need to do. Third, I like to pick up a football or basketball and mess around with it. I can shoot some hoops or throw and catch the football. Finally, If I am stressed I either get help from a parent or a teacher to help me through the stress. As you can see I have a couple of strategies to help me through stress.

  19. When I have lots of work to deal with and lots of stress too I do a few things. First, I take a nap. It gives my brain some time to think about how I will handle the work. If that doesn’t work, I watch some TV. Watching TV helps me take my mind off what I have to do. I get to get to do things that I like to see, and not look at my planner and see that I still have homework. Also I ALWAYS work on the things that are due sooner than later. If I work on the thing due next Monday, and not even think of the thing due tomorrow, I always get a zero. Finally, I eat some food. For some reason food helps me think. Somehow I always sprout an idea for that five paragraph essay. In conclusion, you can deal with stress and make it very easy to deal with

  20. When I need to cope with stress I go outside and just sit for a while. All the sunlight raining on your skin. It is really relaxing because it just warms you up and you can figure out how you are going to fix the issue. Also when I am coping with stress I sometimes watch some football. Football takes your mind of what you have to do. It really lets you release all that stress because you are yelling all the time. I think that stress is just something you choose to do. You can avoid stress in many ways. Sometimes it is just closing your eyes and letting all that stress out. When my sister copes with stress she just punches a pillow while screaming and then starts to cry. As you can see there are many ways to cope with stress.

  21. When I am stressed and have to much work I take a short break and drink a glass of water. I think this helps because my brain gets a break from thinking I feel calm and in about 5 minutes I am refreshed and ready to keep on going. Also when I have a lot of work and it has a certain due date I will work on the first few days so it will be done earlier and I feel calm and stress free because I know that I will get the project done and turn it in on time. 24. Sometimes I find myself in a huge mountain of homework, and when I am in that pile, something else creates another pile on top of me. Stress. Stress is something that can cause huge problems, and as a student I have plenty of it from time to time. So, I have thought of three ways to cope with stress. The first way for me is to just do everything I need to do the second I start feeling stress. This works because when I do it forces me to get everything done. My second way to deal with stress is to just do something relaxing. I think that when you just lay down on the couch and watch TV it really helps relieve stress. One final way that I relieve stress is that I just do something with my family. My family always relaxes me and gets rud of my stress. Those are my three ways to get rid of stress.
