The character trait I see most in this video is kindness. When Meghan Vogel carried the other runner Arden Mcmath, across the finish line, the moment was filled with kindness. If Meghan had chose to keep on running, I think that would have shown that she selfish, and Arden probably wouldn’t have made it to the finish line. But, Meghan chose to do something that not many people would do, she carried Arden across the finish line and put Arden in front of her so she finished first. That was enormous act of kindness and compassion. Besides that, when Meghan was being interviewed later on in the video she said, Arden deserved to cross the finish line as much as she did, and she had worked as hard as Meghan. I think if everyone could be as kind and as compassionate as Meghan Vogel, the world would be an even better place than it is today.
I think that Vogel’s character traits were teamwork and kindness because she grabbed McMath and helped her all the way to the finish line, not just helping her but putting her before her and making McMath 15th place and herself in 16th place. Even though they were in last place the judges gave Vogel a standing ovation for teamwork and kindness. ¨I can’t believe she did that for me.¨ Now I think that act of kindness McMath will remember always and maybe do it herself. I think that her traits were teamwork and kindness.
The character trait I saw was kindness. Meghan saw someone in distress and helped her. The girl hurt wasn't even on her team. What is even crazier is that she let her finish before her! I don't think I would have ever done that. I wonder if Meghan hadn't won earlier she still would've helped?
I think that the character trait the girl who helped the other girl up showed was teamwork. I think that because teamwork is not only for your team, but to be a team with other teams. Another character trait it showed me was sportsmanship. That act showed sportsmanship because she let the other girl go ahead of her.
The trait I see most in this these is kindness. When Meghan Vogel carried the other runner Arden Mcmath, across the ending line, the moment was filled with compassion and friendliness. Meghan chose to do something that not many people would do, she helped Arden across the finish line That was enormous act of kindness and compassion. B I think if everyone could be as kind and as compassionate as Meghan Vogel, the world would be an even more wonderful and loving place then it is today.
The big character trait I see in this is kindness. I think that it took a lot of guts to help someone like that and put them in front of you to finish the race. Even though Meghan got last place, i think she got 1st because that was a very kind thing to do. In the video it said that the crowd gave a standing ovation because it was a touching time. I also connect this to kid president because he said to make the world a better place, and I think Meghan Vogel did make the world a better place because of what she did. I also feel that doing that made her feel good because if she didn't and ran past the girl she would have felt sad that she got a bad place in the standings. Most people would have just ran past but because she stopped and helped that girl she did a great thing. ~Randy
The character trait I saw the most kindness and unselfishness. As the runners were running a McMath fell a few yards away from the the finish line. Then Vogel realized that she fell down and couldn't finish the race. Vogel was so kind that she picked McMath up and carried her across the finish line before her. That is super kind and unselfish because when McMath fell down, she didn't care about winning the race anymore. She went right over the McMath and helped her instead of being selfish and finishing the race.
One of the big character traits that I found in the article and video, “Meghan Vogel, Ohio Track Star, Carries Runner Across Finish Line At State Competition” was teamwork. The text states that Meghan thought that if you made it to the state meet, you deserve to finish no matter who you are. She believed in this so much that Meghan carried Arden Mcmath all the way to the finish line before herself. I chose teamwork because many people think that teamwork is winning together and losing together. That’s exactly what Vogel did. As you can see, I saw the character trait teamwork for Meghan Vogel.
The character trait I saw being exemplified in the story was sportsmanship and kindness. Why I think sportsmanship is because a runner in a race would normally want to finish. But, she saw that this runner was hurt and she had to help the the girl. This shows great sportsmanship, Megan was fair to the girl. She carried the other girl in front of her, to finish before her. A true sport will help each other no matter what. Megan showed this in her actions. Also, she was kind. I think she was kind because even though they were in a race, she only focused on helping this other competitor. The girl wasn't even on her team! But, she felt that it was needed to help the hurt racer. When the reporter asked her what she was thinking about when the crowd was watching her. She said I wasn't even thinking about it. Just on the hurt girl. Megan I think is a very kind person and has lot’s of sportsmanship.
The character trait that I saw being exemplified in this story was respect, which led to kindness. I think this mainly because Meghan Vogel, a runner, respected the injured runner by proving that if you work hard to get to the state meet, you need to finish no matter who you are. This shows that Meghan Vogel wanted to respect her because she definitely worked her hardest to make it to the state race and that she needed to finish this race as a reward of her hard work. Obviously, Meghan Vogel showed respect to the other runner, which led into an act of kindness, which led into Meghan Vogel probably feeling better about herself. ~Kendall B.
In the video, I saw Meghan Vogel showing great sportsmanship and kindness. I think this because, really, she could’ve kept running and just left the girl who fell (Arden McMath) to attempt to cross the finish line for herself. She could’ve easily just left McMath to not finish the race and be on the sidelines, knowing that she would never finish the race; but she didn’t. Vogel helped the girl cross the finish line. She made sure that McMath finished the race before her. Also, I saw a lot of kindness. I think this because not a lot of people would help McMath and Vogel actually came in last so that McMath could finish the race first; there was a lot of kindness in Vogel’s heart; she wanted to let McMath finish the race in front of her, even if it meant that she would be in last place. Vogel didn’t care. She wanted to let her opponent win out of good sportsmanship, kindness, and heart.
The character trait I see in this story is BIG kindness because when she (McMath) fell down she couldn’t get back up and (I’m guessing) she was in lots of pain. Then when another runner came (Meghan Vogel) and helped her up. Not only that she held her up across the finish line, she held her in front of her so she would win, not her. In the video she said that she’d worked so hard to get there and she deserved to win. Also, she didn’t just run on and win forgetting about McMath who fell down deciding that she would win. She picked her up and helped her across the finish line. :)
The character trait I saw most in this video and article was kindness. When Meghan was running she stopped to help a runner, Arden, across the finish line in front of her.She gave up her own race and maybe having a chance to win it to help Arden that wasn’t even on her team.It would take extream kindness to give up a race to help someone that isn’t on her team.
The character trait I see most in this story is kindness. When Megan helped that other runner over the finished line it showed that she was kind and didn't care if she got last place because it meant that she could be kind and help this other competitor across the finish line.
The character trait I saw was kindness. This was the character trait because Meghan Vogel saw a rival runner fall before crossing the finish line. She would’ve been first place but she stopped, and helped the other runner cross the finish line, pushing her in front so that the other runner would be in first place, not her.
The charactor traits I see most are kindness, unselfishness, and good sportsmanship. I think that this is really kind because she sees Mcmath fell down, and she realizes that she can’t move, so she helps her up, were as most of the others passe her without even glancing at her. It is unselfish because she puts Mcmath ahead of herself! I think that most other people wouldn’t do that. It is good sportsmanship because Vogel knows that shes hurting, and instead of just asking her if she’s okay, she actually picks her up and carries her to the finish line! She just went over and helped her finish the race she’d worked so hard to get into.
I think the trait that was being showed was kindness and sportsmanship. I think it was kindness because Meghan didn’t just run past the finish line and ignored the girl, she stopped and helped her get across, and I think that’s really kind. I think it was sportsmanship because if she had ignored her, everyone would hate her and wouldn’t want to be around her, but she was a great sport and helped someone who wasn’t even on her team.
Rachel = girl that was “rescued”Meghan = girl that helped the other cross the finish lineI think that this video and article is an example of teamwork, good sportsmanship. Meghan showed compassion and selflessness when she gave up her own chance to win the race to help Rachel finish it. She had beat her personal goal in an earlier race so she thought that it was more important to help Rachel finish the race she had trained so hard for. It said in the video that Rachel and Meghan weren't even on the same team. I think that Meghan just wanted to be kind for the sake of being kind. She didn’t expect a standing ovation or cheering at all. I think Meghan showed good sportsmanship when she chose to be kind toward Rachel. I hope Rachel said thank you and was very grateful for Meghan’s kindness.
The character trait I see is putting others needs before yours and being kind. First I see putting others needs before yours because when that girl fell she picked her up and finished 15th for this girl. Next is kindness. She helped someone whom needed help to finish the race.
The character traits that I think are exemplified in this story are kindness, perseverance, and empathy. I think that she was sportsmanlike because most people would just go on and cross the finish line without even pausing to think about that person. But this girl did not go on, she went over to the girl and helped her cross the finish line. I also think that this story exemplifies perseverance because if you look closely, the runner that fell tried to get back up and complete the race when others would give up. Empathy was exemplified in this story because the runner who helped the girl showed empathy because she probably knew how it felt to have cramps and decided to help her.
The character trait I see is kindness. Lots of kindness. It's just like people say in sports, if someone falls down keep playing. But that didn't matter to her. She was kind enough to help someone that she was competing against. Now that's kind.
The character traits that I saw where kindness and sportsmanship. Meghan Vogel showed kindness by putting McMath in front of herself both physically and mentally (at the finish line). Vogel could have done a number of things but she did the kindest thing of all. She could have left McMath and completed the race, but she went two steps farther. Vogel also could’ve helped McMath but still complete it before her. Instead, Vogel let McMath go first because she thought that everybody deserves to win.
I see a few character traits being exemplified in this story. I see respect and kindness. She is being kind by giving up her opportunity to win to the other girl. I see respect because Megan says by saying that “she worked this hard to get there” and that she deserved it.
I see a few character traits being exemplified in this story. I see respect and kindness. She is being kind by giving up her opportunity to win to the other kid. I see respect because Megan is showing her competitor by saying that “she worked this hard to get there” and she deserved it.
The character trait that I saw was kindness. The way I saw it was Vogel could have won the race, but she did not. She let someone else win because they were hurt, that is really kindness.
I think the character trait being shown is kindness. I think so because Meghan put others before herself and let herself get last place just because her opponent was hurt. I can infer from this story that Meghan is a blue personality.
I think the main character trait is sportsmanship because when Megan helps the girl across the line without even thinking about the crowd she shows that she does not really care about winning she just wants to help the girl who worked just as hard to get there as she did.~Reid :-D
I think Meghan Vogel’s character trait is easily kindness. I think this because she was in a race against another team and a girl on the other team started cramping up. Unlike most runners wouldn't have done Meghan helped the girl and got last place. "If you work to get to the state meet, you deserve to finish no matter who you are. I was going to make that happen for her no matter what," Vogel told WDTN News. I think it also took a lot of courage to go and help a girl that wasn’t on your team and you knew you were going to get last place that takes a lot of courage to do something that nice. Another thing that really stuck out was when the crowd did a standing ovation Meghan wasn’t paying attention, she was paying attention to the girl that was hurt.
The character trait I saw was kindness and respect. I think that it was kindness because Megan Vogel helped the other competitor across the finish line and let her go ahead of herself. I think it was respect because she said that the other girl probably worked just as hard to get there and cross the finish line and she didn’t want her to not be able to do that.
The character trait that I see in this article is kindness and teamwork. I saw kindness when Meghan saw the hurt girl who wasn’t even on her team, and helped her finish ahead of herself. I thought that this act was kind because the girl that Meghan helped, not only wasn’t on her team, but Meghan let the girl finish before her. I saw an act of teamwork, when Meghan almost carried the girl to the finish line.
